Kru-El was the second cousin of Kal-El, as well as Jor-El, Zor-El, Nim-El, and many other cousins. Kru-El is the son of Zim-El and Byma Ruth-Ar. Kru-El was born on Krypton, but when he was at adult or late teen age, he committed a terrible crime, and was sentenced to the Phantom Zone, where he resided until the destrution of Krypton.
